Please read these Terms carefully before using BetterThanMe AI. By creating an account, downloading the app, or using any part of our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Company & Operator Information
 

BetterThanMe AI is a product and brand owned and operated by MY AI DOO, a company registered in Montenegro.

When these Terms refer to "BetterThanMe AI", "we", "us", or "our", they refer to MY AI DOO acting through the BetterThanMe AI product and the website betterthanme.ai. When they refer to "you" or "user", they mean you, the individual accessing or using our service.

 

2. Relationship Between Company and Product

 

BetterThanMe AI is a software product developed and operated by MY AI DOO.

The website betterthanme.ai, the BetterThanMe AI mobile applications for Android and iOS, and all related services are operated by MY AI DOO.

All references to "BetterThanMe AI" in these Terms refer to services provided by MY AI DOO. MY AI DOO is solely responsible for the Service and for these Terms. Neither Apple Inc. nor Google LLC has any role in the provision of the Service or any obligations under these Terms.

 

3. What Is BetterThanMe AI

 

BetterThanMe AI is an AI-powered reflection companion designed to help users explore ideas, goals, decisions, and personal perspectives through reflective conversations with an AI representation of their future self.
 

The service is accessible through:

  • Our website at betterthanme.ai;
  • The BetterThanMe AI app on the Google Play Store (Android); and
  • The BetterThanMe AI app on the Apple App Store (iOS).
     

All of these access points are operated by MY AI DOO and are collectively referred to in these Terms as the "Service".
 

4. Not a Medical, Therapeutic, or Emergency Service

 

Important — please read this section

BetterThanMe AI is not a medical service, mental health service, therapy, counselling, psychiatric treatment, crisis intervention, or professional advice of any kind. It is an AI-powered reflection tool for personal exploration only.
 

Specifically:

BetterThanMe AI does not provide medical, clinical, psychiatric, psychological, legal, financial, or any other professional advice.

The AI responses you receive are generated by software. They are not reviewed or approved by licensed healthcare or mental health professionals.

No content generated by the Service should be treated as a substitute for professional advice from a qualified practitioner.

We do not make any claims, representations, or guarantees that the Service will improve your mental health, wellbeing, personal circumstances, finances, relationships, or any other area of your life.
 

In an emergency
 

Do not use BetterThanMe AI in an emergency. If you or someone you know is at risk of harm, experiencing a mental health crisis, or facing any life-threatening situation, please contact your local emergency services (e.g. 112 in the EU), a crisis helpline, or go to your nearest hospital immediately.

We are not equipped to respond to emergencies. Our AI cannot call for help, assess risk, or provide crisis support. Please do not use the Service as a substitute for emergency assistance.

 

5. Eligibility and Account Registration

 

To use BetterThanMe AI you must:

Be at least 17 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher). The Service is not intended for children or minors. By registering, you confirm you meet this requirement.

Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

Not be prohibited from using the Service under the laws of your country.

When registering, you agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, please notify us at info@betterthanme.ai immediately.

You may hold only one account. You may not share, transfer, or sell your account to another person.

 

6. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

 

6.1 Plans
 

BetterThanMe AI is available on the following basis:

Free (Basic): A no-charge tier with limited access to features. We reserve the right to adjust what is included in the free tier at any time.

Premium: A paid subscription unlocking full features. Pricing and plan options are displayed in the app and on the relevant app marketplace listing.

In-app purchases: You may purchase in-app items (such as "Hearts" or similar credits) to enhance your experience.

 

6.2 Billing and Renewals
 

Premium subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually, depending on your chosen plan) through the app marketplace through which you originally subscribed. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

 

6.3 How to Cancel
 

You must cancel through the app marketplace where you subscribed — either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We are not able to process cancellations directly. To cancel:

iOS: Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → BetterThanMe AI → Cancel Subscription.

Android: Open the Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → BetterThanMe AI → Cancel.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged for the following period, and your access to Premium continues until the period ends.

 

6.4 Refunds
 

All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Their payment and refund policies apply. We do not control refund decisions made by Apple or Google. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact Apple or Google support directly through your device or their respective support portals.

 

6.5 Price Changes
 

We may change subscription pricing from time to time. If we do, we will notify you in advance before the change takes effect. Your continued use of a paid plan after the price change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the new price. If you do not agree to the new price, you should cancel before the change takes effect.

 

6.6 Apple and Google Are Marketplace Providers, Not Parties to These Terms
 

When you purchase a subscription or in-app item through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, that transaction is between you and Apple or Google respectively. Apple Inc. and Google LLC are marketplace providers only — they are not parties to these Terms and have no obligations under them. Any rights you have in relation to in-app purchases are governed by the terms of the relevant marketplace and applicable law.

To the extent required by Apple's App Store guidelines, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with respect to the iOS app.

 

7. Acceptable Use

 

You agree to use the Service only for lawful personal purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not use the Service to:

  • Upload, share, or generate content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable;
  • Share or solicit content that constitutes or facilitates illegal activity;
  • Submit sensitive personal data about third parties (including medical, financial, or identifying information about other people) without their consent;
  • Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, copy, or replicate the underlying AI model, algorithms, or software;
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure;
  • Use the Service to generate spam, automated messages, or unsolicited commercial communications;
  • Impersonate another person or entity;
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose not expressly authorised by us.

 

Sensitive and emergency content

Please do not input content relating to medical emergencies, suicidal ideation, abuse, or any situation requiring immediate professional intervention. The Service is not able to respond appropriately to such content. See Section 3 above.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you are using the Service in breach of these Terms or in a manner that may cause harm to others or to us.

 

8. User Content
 

You are solely responsible for the content you submit to the Service — including messages, images, and any other material you provide ("User Content").

By submitting User Content, you confirm that you have the right to do so and that the content does not infringe the rights of any third party.

You grant MY AI DOO a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, process, and display your User Content to the extent necessary to operate and improve the Service. This licence does not give us ownership of your content, and we do not claim it.

We may retain and review User Content where required by law, to enforce these Terms, or to investigate reports of misuse. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details of how we handle your data.

 

9. AI Limitations and No Guarantees
 

BetterThanMe AI uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. You should be aware that:

  • AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation.
  • The AI does not know you personally and cannot verify any information you share.
  • Conversations are not monitored in real time by human staff.
  • The AI may reflect biases or limitations present in its underlying technology.
  • We make no guarantee that any outcome — personal, professional, health-related, or otherwise — will result from using the Service.
  • Any decisions you make based on AI-generated content are made at your own risk. We strongly encourage you to consult qualified professionals for any significant decisions.

 

Use of conversations to improve the Service

 

We may use anonymised or aggregated data derived from interactions with the Service to improve the quality of our AI models and features. We do not use your conversations to train AI models in a way that personally identifies you without your explicit consent. 10. Intellectual Property
 

All content, software, design, text, graphics, logos, and other materials that form part of the Service (excluding User Content) are owned by or licensed to MY AI DOO and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. This licence does not permit you to copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from any part of the Service.

The name "BetterThanMe AI" and associated branding are commercial identifiers of MY AI DOO. You may not use them without our prior written consent.

 

11. Third-Party Services
 

The Service may rely on or link to third-party services, including AI infrastructure providers, analytics tools, and payment processors. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or policies of third-party services. Any use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Links to external websites or services within the app or website do not constitute our endorsement of those services.

 

12. Privacy
 

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the processing of your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

We comply with applicable data protection legislation, including the obligations of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to the extent it applies to our users in the European Economic Area and UK.

 

13. Communications and Notifications
 

By creating an account, you agree to receive service-related communications from us, including notifications about your account, changes to these Terms, and important service updates. These are necessary for the operation of your account and cannot be opted out of while you hold an account.

We may also send you optional marketing communications (such as offers and feature announcements) where you have given your consent or where we are otherwise permitted to do so under applicable law. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe link in any email or by adjusting your notification preferences in the app.

 

14. Termination
 

Termination by you

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Deleting your account is permanent and will result in the removal of your account data, subject to our data retention obligations set out in the Privacy Policy. To avoid being charged for a future subscription period, you must cancel your subscription through the relevant app marketplace before deleting your account.

 

Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service immediately and without prior notice if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or harmful conduct, or if we are required to do so by law. We will endeavour to notify you of the reason where it is appropriate and lawful to do so.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including IP rights, disclaimers, liability limitations, and governing law) will continue to apply after termination.

 

15. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

 

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MY AI DOO disclaims all warranties, including those of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We are not liable for any loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Where consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide rights that cannot be excluded, those rights are not affected by these Terms.

 

16. Changes to These Terms

 

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will notify you in advance — for example by email, in-app notification, or by posting a notice on the website — and update the effective date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.

 

17. Governing Law and Disputes

 

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Montenegro, without regard to conflict of law principles.

If you have a dispute with us, we encourage you to contact us first at info@betterthanme.ai so we can try to resolve it informally.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Montenegro, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction give you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts (which these Terms do not seek to override).

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you may also have the right to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
